Mint Mobile reviews: Best Buy and Target

The starter $5 Mint Mobile kit comes with two SIM cards that are made to fit almost any phone (by converting into three sizes). The SIM cards include 100 minutes of talk, 100 text messages, and 100 MB of 4G LTE data. That way you can test the talk, text, and data in the areas you spend most of your time.

Best Buy and Target both carry the Mint Mobile starter SIM pack for $5. The Mint Mobile trial includes 7 days’ worth of talk, text, and data to test out the coverage in your area. Target only has 1 review but it ranks a full 5 out of 5 stars. The Mint Mobile starter kit is only sold online, rather than in stores, at Target.com.

Best Buy, on the other hand, sells the $5 Mint Mobile starter kit online and in stores. They bring in a 4.5 star rating out of 5 with 153 reviews. Best Buy also offer more than just the starter kit. You can buy 3 months of unlimited talk and text with 8GB of 4G LTE data each month for $60.

Out of the reviews, 109 were 5 stars, 29 were 4 stars, 6 were 3 stars, 2 were 2 stars, and 7 of the reviews were rated as 1 star. 91% of people would recommend to their friends and overall the reviews are pretty positive.

Best Buy arranges the reviews so that you can see pros and cons that have been mentioned. Some of the pros reported were service (62 times), price (44 times), coverage (29 times), value (13 times), and ease of use (8 times). There actually weren’t any cons reported enough to be listed on the pro/con list.

Most of the 1-star reviews are a mixed area. A few reported not enough coverages where they live so they returned it, one person got the starter kit with no SIM card, 1 bought a SIM but didn’t activate it within the 45-day time frame so it was useless after that point. 2 people were promised a deal/promotion and did not receive the promotion, and 1 stated they had issues with the transfer of the number from their old provider to the new provider.

You can get on bestbuy.com and check your local stores to see if they have it in stock. If not, don’t worry, you can still order and have it shipped to your house.

From all the research that has been done for Mint Mobile, we have yet to see a total rating of less than 4 stars out of 5. You just have to make sure you look at all the details before buying in order to make sure that you fully understand the rules and regulations, so you don’t end up leaving a 1-star review.
